These @$^#ing Hands! To add to the list of simple, everyday things I suck at drawing: hands. Goddamn hands. They’re like ugly, deformed squids attached to the end of our arms. I have two perfectly acceptable models available to me at all hours of the day and they still look ridiculous to me. I can understand now why a lot of cartoonists go with a four-fingered hand. Maybe I will quietly switch to doing that in the future. Or have a series of pages where each character loses a finger off each hand in varied, yet hilarious, ways.
In other news, I will like to take this opportunity to shamelessly plug a few things of mine that I’ve been working on. The first is my own site (at that I will be redirecting traffic to in the near future (hopefully about end of April, early May). It’s a work in progress, but I mention it because I am new to everything regarding website design and coding in even basic HTML. Any constructive criticism, suggestions, and advice will certainly be appreciated as I build that up.
I can also be found on livejournal now, under the user name je_aleman. I’ve never blogged before and am not too sure what I’m supposed to be saying on it. Thankfully, I don’t think it’s really one of those things you can screw up too badly. As I fill out the sites and get into a routine of regular updates, I’ll see how it balances between writing blog posts or just short little blurbs beneath the comics.
I’ve also added a button to follow me on Twitter, if you really like the comic. Not that I really use it a lot, probably because I have resisted getting a smart phone so far. I’m already glued in front of a monitor all day – what more can a smart phone offer me? It’s like a tablet. You can do some of the things you can do at a computer, but while you’re mobile! But. . . I already have a computer and don’t have to be mobile. You people make no sense to me.
